About the show: The Well Comedy Club’s FREE Thursday night comedy show is your chance to visit without paying a cover charge. At the Pre-Game Comedy Show, comedians from all over California work on their jokes in front of you, A LIVE AUDIENCE. If you’re off work Friday, or even if you’re not, come and get the weekend started with us. Have some drinks and laughs every Thursday at The Well Comedy Club!

Comics who want to perform: Sign-ups are from 6:15 p.m.-6:45 p.m. Sign-ups are in-person.* If you are traveling from outside Bakersfield, please contact the host via Instagram (@bamphony) or Facebook (Anthony Jauregui) to confirm a spot. The show starts at 7:00 p.m. The order in which you sign-up does not guarantee you will go up at that spot i.e. signing up 7^th does not mean you will go up 7^th. Everyone will sign up and then a list will be created. Spots will be anywhere from 3-10 minutes depending on the number of comics that sign up. Time will be announced at the show.

This is a comedy club, so please be respectful e.g. egregious racism, disrespectful crowd work, shock comedy, or unprofessional unpreparedness will result in consequences. If you come to the show as a comedian, please sit in the audience, refrain from talking, and be supportive of fellow performers. Priority will go to performers who support the comedy club and fellow comics performing. If you have any questions, talk to the host.

Back by popular demand, an absolute legend, Paul Rodriguez!!!

Paul Rodriguez is a Mexican-American standup comedian and television and movie actor. He is ranked number 74 on Comedy Central's list of the 100 Greatest Stand-up Comedians of all time! Rodriguez started his career as a comedian after he was done experimenting with military services. He started by working as a doorman at L.A.’s world-famous The Comedy Store. He started appearing briefly on television, but it was not until he appeared on ‘a.k.a. Pablo’ that he achieved much deserved media attention. His career has extended for more than two decades and includes starring roles and featured appearances in over 30 films and innumerable television series and specials. Besides acting and standup comedy and managing his own comedy venue in West Hollywood, ‘Laugh Factory’, he works with civic and educational groups like, Hispanic Scholarship Fund, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, etc. For such contributions, he has been honored with the ‘Humanitarian of the Year Award’ by the ‘City of Fresno’.

Katherine Blanford has brought her human Golden Retriever presence across the country and internationally, sharing confessions of her southern family secrets and awkward adolescent years.

The Kentucky born comedian has appeared on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon twice, a panelist on CBS's After Midnight and Vice TV’s Super Maximum Retro Show, and was featured on Netflix Radio.

These are the things you know about Sarah Tiana. 

But what you don’t know is that Sarah Tiana has been a “working” comedian/ex-waitress in Los Angeles since 2003. 

Originally from Calhoun, GA, Sarah's act emphasizes the thrills of growing up after “The War Of Northern Aggression” and trying to survive in the current battle of the sexes. She and her boyfriend have been together since 2016 but they are not married, mostly because he is a Patriots fan (boo) and he doesn’t deserve a ring from her as well.

Sarah’s big break came after she was recognized for her "breakout performance" as Carmen in four episodes of Reno 911!'s 7th season. In 2005, she helped create a sketch comedy company called The Strait Jacket Society as a way to help young actors in Hollywood accelerate their stage time and gain exposure while still having fun (she has currently put over 500 actors through the program). 

A downright ‘Merican, Sarah has done over 13 tours of comedy for the troops including Germany, Singapore, Afghanistan, Guam, Okinawa, and several Wounded Warrior Facilities. A trip to Iraq at the beginning of the war is highlighted in the documentary film, "We Love You Mrs. Bevins.” She has been a correspondent on “The Soup Investigates” as well as “Love You, Mean It” starring Whitney Cummings. 

An avid sports fan, Sarah wrote for the ESPY awards and the Rob Riggle NFL segments on FOX. She can be seen at The World Famous Comedy Store, Twitter, and keeping score at Braves Games. She will never be seen in the three pilots she taped last year or be caught dead in the dress she wore on Craig Ferguson (it no longer fits).

Over the last few years, comedian Steve Byrne has solidified his status as one of the most innovative, versatile and established entertainers working in his field. From starting his career at established clubs in NYC like The Comedy Cellar and Gotham to cementing his work ethic in LA at The Comedy Store and The Improv, his career has ascended to a national touring act backed by an impressive resume.

Apart from being a late night talk show regular: “Conan”, “Jimmy Kimmel” “The Late Late Show”, even appearing on “The Tonight Show” 10 times, Steve starred, produced and wrote on his own sitcom that ran for 3 seasons on TBS, “Sullivan & Son” produced by Vince Vaughn and Peter Billingsley. Rebounding from tv, Steve directed the documentary “Always Amazing” about comic-magician The Amazing Johnathan” that was given a home with Bill Burr’s All Things Comedy. He then wrote and directed his first feature film “The Opening Act”, about a comedian’s first time on the road with Jimmy O Yang, Cedric the Entertainer, Bill Burr, Whitney Cummings, Ken Jeong, Iliza Schlesinger, Tom Segura and many more. Jack was practically raised on comedy, growing up as the son of comedy club owners. Starting as a spectator, he soon found his way to the stage and never looked back. Now, he’s a seasoned performer, traveling the country and opening for stars like Marlon Wayans, Brandon T. Jackson, Damon Wayans Jr., and David Spade.

Jack’s TV credits include Epix’s Sex Life, Amazon’s Laugh After Dark, and the documentary Make America Laugh Again. A finalist on NBC’s Stand Up in 2019, he’s also the creator of the NoHo Comedy Festival, a showcase for some of the best talent in the country. Born and raised in Macon, GA, David discovered his passion for performing early, starring in stage plays at the Macon Little Theatre. After relocating to Hollywood, he became a contestant on MTV’s Yo Momma and went on to write for several television shows. Today, David is a Kill Tony Hall of Famer, recognized for his sharp roasting skills and quick wit. He’s shared the stage with some of the biggest names in comedy, including Joe Rogan, Louis CK, Tony Hinchcliffe, Brendan Schaub, DL Hughley, Bert Kreischer, and more.

A regular panel member on NPR’s Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me, Alonzo Bodden has been making audiences around the country laugh for more than 20 years.

Alonzo’s latest (2022) comedy special Alonzo Bodden: Stupid Don’t Get Tired, was released on YouTube by Helium Comedy Studios. In 2019, he starred in his fourth stand-up special, Alonzo Bodden: Heavy Lightweight, which premiered exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. 

His first big comedy break came when he was on the “New Faces of Comedy” showcase at the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal. However, it was as the season three winner of NBCʼs Last Comic Standing where Alonzo was first introduced to America. 

Since then, he has starred in two comedy specials for Showtime: Historically Incorrect and Who’s Paying Attention. His television appearances include ABC’s Dr. Ken and Fresh Off the Boat, Dr. Phil, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, Comedy Central’s The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore and Californication. He’s also a reoccuring guest on The Joe Rogan Experience.

A car and motorcycle aficionado, Alonzo hosted Speed Channel’s 101 Cars You Must Drive and has joined Jay Leno for several off-road trips on his CNBC series Jay Leno’s Garage. Alonzo was a field correspondent on Animal Nation with Anthony Anderson and a contributor on the Science Channel’s How to Build Everything. 

Alonzo currently hosts the podcast Who’s Paying Attention? (part of All Things Comedy) where he gives his unique take on what’s going on in the world.

Comedian, Actor, Producer Tony Rock is the hardest working man in show business.   Born in the same Brooklyn Hospital where most of his eight brothers and sisters arrived into the world, Tony was born laughing and it was quickly apparent that his big brother wasn't going to be the only famous comedian in the family. 

Tony has proven to be one of television's best hosts having played the role of ringleader on HBO’s weekly stand-up comedy series All Def Comedy, NBA TV's The Warm Up, along withBET’s Black Card Revoked and Apollo Live, all while co-starring in his first primetime network series - CBS' Living Biblically.  

​Performing stand-up comedy continues to be Tony's first love and this year has proven no different.  You can see him on tour in 2018 as one of the featured acts on the Platinum Comedy Tour with Mike Epps, The Festival Of Laughs with Comedienne Sommore, and his own Tony Rock Live club tour!

​Outside of the lights-camera-action, Tony works tirelessly as the founder of the MyROCK Diabetes Foundation, a charity organization established in honor of his late father.
