Sammy Obeid LIVE! Tuesday, January 14 at 7pm
Meet Sammy Obeid, a Lebanese-Palestinian-Syrian-Italian-American comedian from Oakland, California, best known for his record-breaking 1,001-day streak of consecutive comedy performances. This remarkable journey, which started on December 26, 2010, and wrapped up on September 21, 2013, took him from local clubs to national TV, with appearances on Conan, America’s Got Talent, and Throwdown with Bobby Flay, where he became the first comedian ever to perform on the Food Network. Along the way, Sammy broke the world record for consecutive comedy performances on Day 731, dubbing his achievement “1,001 Arabian Nights of Comedy.”
Sammy’s journey caught the attention of TIME, the New York Times, and LA Weekly, which praised his "sheer force of will." His material, filled with clever wordplay and surprising twists, earned him a place on major national tours like CoExist Comedy and Axis of Evil: New Generation. Following the streak, his debut album, Get Funny or Die Trying, was named a Best Comedy Album of 2013 by iTunes.
Today, Sammy channels his passion for comedy through KO Comedy, his own enterprise, and offers his unique takes on life (and plenty of unsolicited advice) on his blog.
